5 P: This prior information notice relates to proposed conservation building work in Sydney Gardens, Bath. The general scope of the conservation works contract will cover the Loggia (stone – underpinning, minor repairs and refurbishment).

5 P: The Temple of Minerva (stone – minor repairs, refurbishment, and installation of interpretation panels).

5 P: Edwardian Toilets (2 separate iron buildings – one male and one female).

5 P: Canal bridges (2 iron bridges — minor repairs and repainting and 1 stone bridge – minor repairs to parapet).

5 P: Ruin (stone – consolidation and stabilisation).

5 P: Long seat (stone – repair, additional new section, artwork installation); and

5 P: A separate contract will be let for a main contractor who will be undertaking demolition; ground works; new build (café); refurbishment of two buildings (not historic); creation of an extensive play area and landscaping.

5 P: The ambition is to keep as much of the park open as possible during the works, so please refer to the attached draft contractors compound and working area plan for our preliminary thoughts.

5 P: The main contractor will be responsible for the site as principle contractor (H&S) for all the works and will set up and operate the construction compound, oversee deliveries to site and the welfare facilities. The conservation works contractor(s) will need to liaise with the main contractor for these elements of the works.
