Summary

PsstMenu allows customers to place orders directly from home or restaurant tables using only a smartphone. This allows restaurants to increase sales, reduce staff costs and improve customer satisfaction.
Waiting for waiters to come and take orders will soon be history!!!
The app eliminates the inefficient management of orders due to various human factors and provides a direct communication channel between the restaurant and the customer. It reduces significantly the number of visits done by a waiter to the tables, let them more time to do a better customer service.
Slow service is always at the top complaints about restaurants. Shorter perceived waiting times increase service experience, customer loyalty and potentially market share. We expect to cut by 50% of visits from a waiter to a table, while increase customer service.
At this stage of development, it is necessary to refine and mature overall strategy. For that propose, the feasibly study will provide the necessary validation information, and strategic guidance necessary to address new markets, providing which markets to focus on, and how to address them.

Work performed

To achieve this goal, MeshPorto has developed a new concept, based on mobile technology, able to install in just a couple of hours, just needing to setting up the digital menu and print Qrcode information to place on the top of the tables.
Our objectives for the Phase 1 - Feasibility Study were:
• Study the in-course pilot trials regarding its technology, infrastructure, models and results;
• Marketing and sales strategy, funding needs, and financial projections (profits, revenues, costs);
• Fine-tuning of the business strategy to create a positive footprint on the economy, aiming at the creation of highly qualified jobs, for development, commercialization and support purposes;
The work started with the help from INESC Porto (KAM) to identify the SME mentor in the Enterprise Europe Network. After some skype interviews the company selected Bernard Ashford. With the visit and valuable feedback from the SME mentor, we decide focus on the existing clients, get as much information as we could from the first pilot trials, so we could make the product stronger to fit the market needs and try to create strong partnerships.

For our product, last months were exclusively dedicated to trialling PsstMenu in restaurants and through the generated data and inputs learn from the process to produce a valid business strategy able to generate international business and traction. Multiple activities were performed related to promotion of the product, mainly to create national and international awareness about PsstMenu, which help us to establish multiple contacts with potential customers and partners in different countries.

We are negotiating the terms of agreement with partners for the BeNeLux market, aiming to start growing sales in September, after summer vacations. MeshPorto was one of the ten finalist of the prize NOS Inovação 2017 in the category for Best Startup of the year 2017. This is one of the most recognized awards in Portugal, provided by a national telecom leader, who supports innovation in multiple national and international projects.

Final results
