 Project objective

Sokar Mechanics, after five years of research, acquisition of know-how and commercial experience in a technology as recent as metal additive manufacturing, is one step away from being able to implement a process innovation that will allow it to break into the European industrial market with an offer of high added value and boost additive manufacturing to a level of large-scale industrialization. The innovative and disruptive project that Sokar introduce, which consists of implementing (RT-QCS) a new real time quality control system (previously designed) within additive manufacturing (AM) process, aims to overcome several of the limitations of the still incipient manufacture additive of metals, with the aim of accelerating its expansion and large-scale industrialization, boosting its growth and expand the business lines and the positioning of Sokar Mechanics in this market. The challenge of this innovative project is to solve some of the weaknesses or limitations of AM. The innovative patent pending on Sokar’s concept is to develop a quality system built into additive SLM machine, in synchrony with the AM. Thus, when a part is being manufactured, a quality check process is performed simultaneously. The main source of revenue in this business model will be the installation of RT-QCS in additive machines, Sokar will market the installation / retrofitting service to equip AM machines with this system. Additionally, training, maintenance services and customer support will be offered, to resolve incidents related to product use. Sokar estimates can reach up 50% of market share in 5 years, amortizing an investment of 550.000€ in the 2,5 years. As a marketing channel, Sokar Mechanics intends to exploit personal and direct innovation throughout Intra-Community Europe, starting with its current customers network, and leads in the aerospace, automotive and biomedical sectors. As a result of that exploitation it will have a turnovers of 1.250.000€ in 2025.
