Summary

Lithuanian-based transport telecommunications company Ruptela UAB presents our new solution – INTRANSYS. It is a new Transport Management System (TMS) which is developed by Ruptela and partly funded by European Union. It integrates hardware and software with real-time data to provide a holistic, cost effective TMS that is geared towards SMEs. INTRANSYS provides a platform to view, manage and report on transportation and logistics operations. It makes communication between dispatchers, drivers, and logistics managers quicker and easier by having information needed more readily available.

INTRANSYS combines all the best and necessary aspects of a fully integrated TMS, plus, it adds more online features which were not common for a TMS. As INTRANSYS is a holistic TMS which is provided as a Software as a Service (SaaS), it can reduce set up times and costs for companies which otherwise would need to spend money on customized solution to fit their needs.

On the operational level INTRANSYS is a single tool for dispatchers and managers which can seamlessly integrate into the supply chain processes of any logistics organization. The functionalities help dispatchers keep track of the vehicles and drivers on the field, manage and dispatch deliveries and have control over routes that are occurring throughout the day.

As the final outcome of the project there have been developed a Business Plan for successful implementation of go to market activities. INTRANSYS system is planned to be continuously supported and updated to maintain it as competitive and commercially viable product.

Work performed

It took us 25 months to develop all deliverables of the Project. We had about 45 professionals continuously working on project tasks. For our next generation TMS systems we developed hardware layer consisting of several tracking devices and software layer, which is web application with advanced features plus mobile application and eco-driving features.

Final results

Socio-economic impact of the Project is related to transport resource efficiency as well as mobility efficiency:
- Transport resource efficiency contributes to positive environmental impact; our tool can influence driver behavior for reduction of fuel consumption and this directly relates to lowering CO2 emissions of the transport industry (95 g/km expected for 2020, the average is 132 g/km);
- Mobility efficiency contributes to road safety and less congestion; our real time route optimization allows drivers to choose the best way to reach their destination based on data such as accidents, traffic condition and tachograph; this feature improves mobility, increasing fluidity of vehicles on the roads; additionally our tool can influence driver behavior to promote prudent usage of vehicles leading to safer and more secure driving.
