Periodic Reporting for period 1 - TranSim (The Next Generation Simulation-Based Training System for Optimal Transportation Systems)

Summary

TranSim aims to become the most comprehensive simulation solution targeting the transport sector (cars, trucks and buses) by integrating an Intelligent Traffic Environment (ITE) and our enhanced Tenstar Scoring System (TSS) functionalities. The ITE will build a realistic traffic and operational environment with different interactive elements and environmental conditions, and will embed a Multi Machine Environment, where several different simulators will be working in the same environment at the same time. Our TSS will be the basis to support a Customized Defined Training functionality that will enable to identify and score the strengths and weaknesses of a driver and also improve his core skills. Our direct clients will mainly consist of driving schools and training centres offering professional training for professional drivers, together with manufacturers of vehicles (trucks and buses) for which we customize our simulator.

Work performed

During the feasibility period we have confirmed the new set of simulators to be created, targeting current market needs and gaps in our competitorsâ€™ portfolio. We have collected and defined the requirements for the CDT module.
Our Commercial Steps to bring TranSim to the market are based on an in-depth market study in several EU countries that we have conducted during Phase 1. After analysing the results of this study, our initial expansion will take place within target schools located in Scandinavia. Driving schools in UK, France and other Western European countries will be addressed secondly. We have also confirmed that we do not infringe on IPRs in our target countries.

Final results

Current simulation solutions in the transportation sector do not meet the demands of quality, economy and safety. That is why at Tenstar we have developed our Intelligent Traffic Environment (ITE) and our enhanced Tenstar Scoring System (TSS) functionalities.
Currently, no other company in the EU provides ITE and CDT in their simulators.
Thanks to Tenstarâ€™s breakthrough innovation we plan to become market leaders in the sector of training of drivers in Europe, supporting our growth on the expansion of our sales force and commercialization channels.
TranSim is aligned with the objectives of the European Road Safety Programme, aiming at cutting road deaths in half in the next decade. By providing better training and evaluation of drivers, we will improve their skills and behaviour on the road and thus we will contribute to reduce the number of accidents.
