Summary

In this market feasibility study that was carried out in June-November 2017 we have assessed the commercial & market feasibility of CLTRe Behavioural Toolkit, as well as the economic & financial feasibility of our project.
We have arrived at the following major results:
Based on both industry data analysis and our market survey study—we have measured the potential for security culture assessment tools.
We identified the specificities of B2B market and B2G both in distribution models and product specifications.
The business model has been refined with partners and customers to come up to a viable solution both for CLTRe, the partners and the end client.
CLTRe identified, met and negotiated with 27 organisations to identify the best options for both product supply and R&D.
Even if some challenges are still there – further development of the analytics tools for instance – our analysis shows the service is commercially viable.

Work performed

In this feasibility study, we have completed the following steps:

Step 1: Research and Interview Preparations
Secondary research into the global security market to obtain market size information
Survey creation
Select organizations to interview and invite participants

Step 2: Conducting Interviews
Schedule interviews with industry experts from 25 enterprises
Record interview and demo session with participants

Step 3: Analysis
Analyse findings of interview responses
Sort and correlate findings from interview sessions and secondary research
Prioritise and develop target market segments based on findings
Prepare and submit final report

We also secured 5 letters of intent from 5 organisations in the banking and finance sector, healthcare sector and in ICT. The organisations have all agreed to join the pilot program for the furthering of the CLTRe Behavioural Toolkit software solution.

Final results

In this feasibility study we have revalidated and confirmed the market potential and the business opportunity for our CLTRe Behavioural Toolkit to understand and improve security culture. We have also identified the need for a wider range of analytics tools, for example privacy culture and safety culture.

The impact of the project goes beyond the direct impact for CLTRe (knowledge, understanding of the market). The socio-economic impact includes a revised business model, including interest from reseller partners in EU, Middle East, Latin America and Oceana.

We will start commercialisation by setting up the trial case implementations of the CLTRe Behavioural Toolkit in the pilot organisations in 2018-2019. We will also seek to secure CLTRe Behavioural Toolkit pilot implementation in non-EU countries.
For this purpose, we will pursue an application for the SME Instrument Phase 2 grant in Jan 2018 to improve the technology, solve the current technical issues and drive the production costs down from current price per installation.
We have secured preliminary interest from 5 organisations to ensure the successful completion of the pilot project should we secure the SME Instrument Phase 2 grant.
