Summary

The ActionTracker challenge is to create solutions for connected and automated maritime transport that address future requirements and have a significant impact across a broad range of stakeholders, ship, port and logistic operators, thereby strengthening the position of the EU within the maritime communications sector and exploiting the resources of the European Galileo and Copernicus satellite.
i-vSave is a disruptive maritime monitoring & communication system with integrated satellite communication and positioning (GNSS-Galileo), GSM /3G connectivity, on-board narrowband radiofrequency (LoRa) sensor network and a terrestrial server for data processing and management, that promotes overall communications, safety and crew/passenger comfort on merchant, passenger and recreational vessels. Maritime companies, crew and passenger (target users) have a need for real-time information exchange, safety, security and 24/7 connectivity.
i-vSAVE integrates in a unique modular platform (hardware and software) real time data collection, local data processing and data reporting, providing ship crews with high-tech navigation aids and decision support systems to help seafarers take rapid and safe decisions both under normal conditions and during an emergency.
I-vSave collects and processes in real-time data from satellites, databases and sensors to enhance decision-making by captain, provide fleet management tools and emergency alerts in the case of safety or security threats, while the on-board sensor network monitors the ships’ operation (anti-collision, stability, optimal trim) and guard passenger and crew safety (RF Man overboard). Furthermore: (1) crew and passengers benefit by 24/7incresed connectivity and communication services (Satellite, Mobile and WiFi) at global coverage of up to 99%, (2)simple and reliable Radiofrecuency IoT on-board systems, lowering the installation and maintenance cost, adapted to leisure, cargo or passenger ships, (3) Exploit relevant data obtained from European databases (Copernicus+EUMETSAT) creating and providing a new service layer to maritime sector, generating data profit, (4) Reduce the high costs involved in satellite communication data transfer, selecting the optimal channel for data and voice transmission in terms of quality, coverage, data rate and cost.
However, satellite data & communications, radiofrequency, control algorithms, sensor fusion, software, firmware and electronics development form a key pillar in this project.

A hardware prototype has been developed and tested on relevant maritime environments (ships & ports).

Work performed

However, satellite data & communications, radiofrequency, control algorithms, sensor fusion, software, firmware and electronics development form a key pillar in this project.

A hardware prototype has been developed and tested on relevant maritime environments (ships & ports).

Final results

\"We have demonstrated the technical viability of the software and electronic platform, and the potential performance of i-vSAVE platform. (MOB, anti-collision and stability subsystems).
2. We have conducted an in-depth market study, and analysed the economic viability through a BP. The results of our feasibility study are positive.
3. We have evolved the IVS, concept, project and product as we have explained on this document.
4. We are firmly decided to continue the IVS project, due to: (1) the positive feedback coming from stakeholders (Universities , &PhD, IACS, Captains, Port Authorities), (2) the perception of \"\"things are changing\"\" concerning to maritime technology and needs to integrate solutions, (3) positive feedback coming from “Partial” in-situ demonstrations to potential end-users and customers, (4) the positive economic results obtained on BP, (5) the positive project impact on maritime activities (business, people, environmental (see also the document 1a.publishable summary)\"
