Summary

Every year 2.12 billion tons of waste is generated. Recycling has become increasingly important to society and industry to meet the goals of cost reduction, efficient management of limited resources, and reduced landfill utilization. In this way, recycling metal reduces pollution, saves resources, reduces waste going to landfills and prevents the destruction of habitats from mining new ore
While current techniques on waste recycling relies on technologies which requires continuous downtime and big investments on maintenance, MRP introduces a new concept of recycling based on hammers and centrifugal rotors that guarantee a long lifespan without wear while recovering 99% of recycled metals, saving cost, downtimes and space in facilities. The project will be oriented towards obtaining the following main objectives:
• Technology optimisation
• Development of a new design in tower-shape to save space in facilities
• Obtaining certificates and standards for the sale of MRP units;
The FS confirms the novelty of our proposal, its technical viability and economic profitability in any of the scenarios proposed. MRP has already aroused great enthusiasm in our clients, who expressed their interest with letters of interests.

Work performed

Technical Feasibility, including: Technology definition and in-depth cost analysis; SoA assessment; Detailed technical plan to increase TRL to 9; Analysis of risks and design of a mitigation and contingency plan.
Technology Watch and IP strategy, including: FTO analysis, definition of IPR strategy.
Market Analysis: including a depth analysis of end-users and needs and market segmentation by regions
Financial Viability, including: business model, price policy; benefits for end users and 3 sales scenarios.

Final results

We believe that MRP will be a trend on future metal recycling market as there is no other solution from competitors that offer the versatility on waste recycling that MRP. Also, MRP will have a great influence on future metal recycling market reducing waste management cost, increasing both devices and components lifespan. We expect MRP to be an important economic impact in our company that allows us to increase our team with +5 new employees at the third commercialisation year with a revenue of +16M€.
