TELCAP is offering an advanced planning software called KAPPA. Our software assists mobile network operators in capacity planning and dimensioning from an end-to-end perspective the 4G and soon 5G telecommunication network capacity. 5G is expected to play a key role in digital economies and creating new business opportunities for telecom operators impacting new industries such as Automotive or Healthcare. The rising adoption of new concepts such IoT and smart cities combined with increasing need for high-speed internet connectivity pushes Mobile Network Operators to seek for tools optimizing their capital expenditures. Despite the potential economic benefits that might be realised from 5G, care must be taken in ensuring that there are commercial cases for mobile 5G. Our software provides ability to forecast traffic growth based on history information and machine learning. With the UNIVO-NG project we aimed to verify technological and business feasibility of evolving our existing product to match needs of operators preparing for massive introduction of 5G and its applications.
Within UNIVO-NG we approached over 20 mobile operators from different continents and interviewed several stakeholders of the telecom industry including telecom operators, their associations, large consulting companies and vendors of telecom equipment. We were also assisted by our coach assigned by the EASME and attended sector conferences and exhibitions. The recommendations from our coach have already been partially implemented by optimizing the company structure. The conducted in-depth market analysis helped us better understand the global of 5G, its specific applications and expectations of mobile network operators which contributed to an update of our commercialization strategy and our business plan. We specifically investigate into the most promising application of Fixed Wireless Access (FWA). As a part of market research, we also investigated into the competitive landscape updating and extending our knowledge of competitors and their offering.
Finally, we updated and extended our business plan also including future revenues generated from collaboration acquired during the project. Building on the conclusions we are convinced that UNIVO-NG matches confirmed needs and expectations of mobile operators facing the advent of 5G in the technological, economic and practical aspects. We aim to prove it by successful entering to the market within established roadmap, possibly with the support from Phase 2 Instrument.
