Summary

Of absolute critical importance to the overall security and the resilience of Urban areas, are the emergency services and the communication networks that they utilize. ShaMROCK will leverage the market position and Push To Talk(PTT) technologies of Genaker in order to deliver the World´s first broadband Professional Mobile Radio(PMR) system running over standard cellular networks. Such a system is just starting to be demanded by International Governments for usage by Emergency Services and Professionals to firstly, reduce costly dependency on dedicated networks, to secondly, increase communication resilience and network reliability and thirdly, to support a new generation of point-of-use urban infrastructure protection applications.

Work performed

The ShaMROCK SME Instrument Phase One Feasibility study has allowed us to analyse this new market opportunity in much greater depth. On the direct market side we have analysed: Total market size, stakeholders and competitors. This has been completed via a small-scale pilot and direct stakeholder interaction. Aside from the feasibility result we have also developed an initial business plan to meet the opportunity and to address the challenges discovered.

Final results

Since there is one single Report at the end of the 6 Months Phase I the results are those listed in the previous paragraph. We give here no indications of the size of the market and the segment addressed by Genaker since this has been obtained after a huge investigation work maintly through more than 30 interviews and meetings with relevant stakeholders, competitor analisys and two small scale pilots with partners to validate early Alpha version of the solution.
