Summary

das-Nano is going to be one of the leading companies in the world in bringing to the industry a technology that, by virtue of its properties (penetration of non-conductive materials, sensitivity to water presence as well as reflection of conductive materials), is bound to become a tool that will spawn as many products and applications as those that exploit other wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. It has been deemed as one of the: “TOP-10 emerging technologies that could transform our future”

With that objective Phase 1 has been developed according to planned activities, updating their business plan with obtained conclusions:
• To conduct a deep review in order to confirm the foreseen two-stage market: Research & Science and screens industry. And according to mentioned review to validate marketing strategy.
• To conduct a study of scalability of the industrial production process
• To validate supply chain for the serial production of the system. Including main Terahertz components.
• Investigate other potential massive applications that will use the same materials and therefore ONYX system for characterization and production control das-Nano will have the support of external experts to achieve mentioned goals.
Conclusions of the performed work:
Due to the technological opportunity that this technology brings to the market, das-Nano has explored additional applications to the Onyx system for Graphene and other 2D materials characterization detailed in the Grant Agreement of the Phase I.
The technological concept in which the das-Nano Terahertz equipment is based, makes possible to create different applications adapted to different industries, with the same core technology, such as the automotive and the wind turbine manufacturers.
80% of the technical development of the Terahertz equipment is the same for each of the three industries where the company wants to implement its systems.
The objectives for ONYX Screen, the Graphene and other 2D materials characterization system for the Mobile Screens Industry remain unchanged, and there are also unmet needs in the Automotive and Wind Turbine industries that das-Nano can solve in the short term.
With two new scenarios where das-Nano´s systems could contribute with different solutions, additional goals have been set on top from Characterizing Graphene and other 2D materials in the Mobile Screens Industry:
• Measuring the painting coating thickness in the automotive industry
• Detection of blades´ internal structures such as laminates and cores, and measurement of the blade´s painting coating thickness in the wind turbine industry
The technological concept doesn´t change within the three products and with some software and hardware modifications, the business opportunity increases in a substantial way.
Considering the evolution of every wave that make-up the electromagnetic spectrum, it is possible to predict that the natural development of the Terahertz technological applications will grow exponentially in the coming years. das-Nano is developing the mentioned three applications based on Terahertz technology.
