Summary

Sana is a cutting-edge solution that enables ‘sleep on command’ even for the most severe cases of insomnia. Users simply wear the sleep mask over their eyes as they lay on their pillows, press play and allow the device to take them into a restful, natural drug-free sleep. The user experiences gentle pulsing light and sound that adapts to their own physiological response, to guiding them into a natural sleep in a way that is far superior to any current drug or device treatment. This technology was developed by our founder Richard to save his own life. Post a tragic road traffic accident that left him with spinal injury, permanent paralysis from the waist-down and set in a wheelchair. He was given a five year life expectancy, due to the extreme nature of the resulting chronic nerve damage pain and sleep problem. The earliest prototype removed permanently all his nerve damage pain and allowed him to sleep, and now after 24 years of R&D, sensor technology has evolved to the point where Sana has been able to create a standalone device that anyone can use anywhere to get the sleep and pain relief benefits that saved Richard’s life

Work performed

Between 1st November 2017 and 28th February 2018, Sana Health undertook the Phase 1 feasibility study under the SME Instrument to determine the technical and economic viability of their sleep on command solution Sana. The assessment confirmed the product’s feasibility.
• The clear market demand for safe and efficient sleep induction mechanisms, where a thriving sleep aids market continues to grow in developed countries, and significant investment and research has continued to be pumped into the various aspects of sleeping, resting, pain management, and health regeneration worldwide, with multiple organisations and millions of end-users on the lookout for viable solutions.
• The project’s value chain members were found to importantly compliment Sana Health’s industrial engineering and clinical corroboration capacity in order to certify Sana for EU commercialisation purposes.

Final results
