Summary

Worldwide the public awareness about consequences of soil contamination is rising and making greater pressure on the regulation of contaminated soil management and remediation. Most countries have made clean-up and restoration of contaminated land a priority thus creating the opportunity for soil preserving remediation options. Environmentally and economically acceptable solutions for soil decontamination are needed, especially for heavy metals and metalloids contaminated soil. ReSoil technology answers this global need. ReSoil technology is the single available soil remediation option which efficiently removes Pb and other toxic metals from contaminated soils and preserves soil as a natural resource.
The main objective was to complete the assessment of technical, commercial and financial feasibility of our business innovation project to prepare a strategic vison for ReSoil technology to enter the growing soil remediation market.
Based on the conducted feasibility study we decided to continue the project with altered plans of conquering the soil remediation market in two directions. One is with a mobile ReSoil unit that will help to overcome lack of knowledge, trust and confidence while introducing a new technology and to reach public acceptance. The other direction of commercialization is collaboration with an external provider for preparation of complete project documentation for an industrial size plant.

Work performed

Within technical feasibility study, the processes of soil remediation at the existing demonstration plant were studied in detail. Input data was prepared for construction of a mobile ReSoil unit for on-site demonstration purposes with capacity 300 kg/day and for an engineering company to to prepare the entire technological documentation for installation of the first industrial ReSoil unit with capacity 100 t/day.
Commercial feasibility study resulted in a detailed market analysis. Concentrating on the most interesting geographic areas for our technology commercialization showed us the most promising market and we began extensive communication there and also worldwide.
Within financial feasibility we calculated the turning point capacity in profitability and prepared calculations for investment needed and return on investment for the buyer of remediation plant. We concluded that according to our calculations, investment in the remediation plant with ReSoil technology is a good investment opportunity. Total costs for commercialization activities for two years and business growth till 2025 were calculated.
Feasibility study resulted in ReSoil technology being technically, commercially and financially doable at the industrial level.

Final results

ReSoil technology is the single available soil remediation option which efficiently removes Pb and other toxic metals from contaminated soils and preserves soil as a natural resource. With continued commercialization activities we will prove the superiority of the technology on the market through successful operation of the full-scale plant. With ReSoil technology the soil remediation market will be offered a fit-for-purpose, cost- effective innovative and sustainable solution for removal of pollutants from soil, especially heavy metals and metalloids. Environmental benefits will be proven, which are mainly reflected in positive effects on human health and general well-being.
