Worldwide demand for meat is expected to increase but serious problems limit livestock production and profitability. These include, market price pressure, an increase in the number of animals, concerns and production losses due to animal disease outbreaks, regulations to decrease the environmental impact of intensive production, concerns on the animals’ welfare, fewer suitable workers for the farms, high energy expenditure and poor feeding control.
Our system enables to optimize farm management processes based on real-time data (real-time alerts, notifications and pre-determined corrective actions), to maximise profitability, quality of products, animal welfare and sustainability of the farm environment.

Also developing a strategy for a successful commercialisation an exploitation, completing an in-depth FTO analysis, reviewing financial projections and detailing a work plan for the execution of EIC Acc. Pilot including work packages, resources allocated and a risk management plan.

Work performed

A complete feasibility study has been done, addressing technical, commercial and financial activities, and updating the Business Plan to include requirements and strategy for a successful commercialization. Main results derived from our tests showed further development and technical requirements needed to make the product (Smart Livestock Service Delivery Platform to monitor and control livestock systems in real-time) ready for the market. These findings helped to consolidate Paintec’s strategy and some product specifications. Additionally, an in-depth market study was done to understand Paintec’s market and estimate the growth potential. A commercialisation plan was also prepared and the business model adapted. Finally, a detailed FTO and IP analysis was performed together with financial projections on expected results and a business plan.

Final results

Expected results are optimization of our product according to technical requirements identified to achieve a commercial version, development of strategic and commercial partnerships. Potential impact is to ensure the commercial viability of the product and finish developing it.
Socio-economic impacts include: feeding costs minimization, control of gases\' emissions, increase of workforce efficiency, energy savings or production rates increasing.
