Summary

ALG is a Trusted Third Party SME, founded in 2010, builder of the ALG platform, currently in use by thousands of French businesses. The ALG platform is a Software as a Service application through which businesses can share their administrative documents “once for all” with their businesses partners thus forming a Business-to-Business social network. The ALG solution includes various services such as the verification of uploaded documents, the automatic retrieval and update of documents issued by specific institutions, and alerts on documents that have to be manually updated.
ALG’s objectives are to: – Reduce the administrative burden on businesses by simplifying processes of legal compliance between customers and suppliers; – Contribute to the effort on countering unfair competition and support regulation in the context of worker secondment.
Because of the European directive 2014/24/EU that reinforces the obligation of diligence in Europe, the objectives of this action are to: – Investigate on the possibility of deploying ALG’s solution on a European scale; – Identify European countries and markets where a deployment of our solution is economically profitable and create value.

Work performed

In order to fulfil our objectives, we conducted an economic viability study in which: – We interviewed national and European actors; – We thoughtfully reviewed recent studies about legal compliance at a European level.
In addition to this economic study, we also conducted a study of Intellectual Property and technological aspects related to our project.
This feasibility study helped us in identifying competitors confirming that there is a market to be addressed. This enabled us to identify key differentiation points that will allow us to conquer market shares.
For instance, our Business-to-Business social network approach is not adopted by any of our competitors. This illustrates the disruptive nature of our project because this approach will bring innovative services and benefits to European businesses.
We also concluded that the barriers to entry are low on several markets such as the construction and the transport industry markets which are concerned about assessing the legal compliance of suppliers.

Final results

The expected results of our action are the implementation of the first European Business-to-Business social network and the improvement European businesses’ competitiveness by reducing the administrative burden.
