Validation Report for Research Applications - v1

This document describes the validation objectives, context, data required and criteria for acceptance. This will also contain a data procurement plan to ensure this validation. The validation does not address only data/products validation but are also meant for service validation. This document will contain the following volumes:
1. VR for Bathymetry determination from SAR imagery;
2. VR for Bathymetry, benthic classification and water quality determination from optical imagery;
3. VR for V essel detection with SAR;
4. VR for Time series processing for hyper temporal optical data analysis;
5. VR for Ocean and Coastal altimetry.

Generic Tools Description and User Manual - v1

Including the following volumes:
Automated Orchestration Engine Rules:
This volume describes the rules of the automated orchestration engine responsible for the execution of the different tasks that compose a data processing chain for the different research applications. The document will also describe the required information in order to configure the automated orchestration engine for a new application.
Image Inter-calibration tools User Manual:
This volume describes the set of tools to be integrated into the research framework allowing the processing of the image data with the objective of calibrating the measures between different sources of the images.
Data Co-registration and Data Fusion tools User Manual:
This volume describes the set of tools to be integrated into the research framework allowing the processing of the image data with the objective of merging the measures between different sources of the images into one single image.
Image Atmospheric Corrections and Data Flagging tools User Manual:
This volume describes the set of tools to be integrated into the research framework allowing the processing of the image data with the objective of correcting the atmospheric perturbations and flagging data (e.g. cloud presence).
EO Simulated Dataset Definition:
This document contains the description of the simulated data available in the framework for the development and testing of research applications. The description of the data is to include description of the scenario being simulated, special conditions of the data and measures of the quality of the data (e.g. statistics of the data, etc...).
Common Visualisation Portal tool User Manual:
This document describes the usage of the portal to be integrated into the research framework allowing the visualisation of the results data from the processing of the research applications.
Additional Pre-processing Tools User Manual:
This volume describes the set of tools to be integrated into the research framework allowing the common pre-processing of the data shared amongst several different applications. The document will also include a list of third party tools available in the research framework, and pointing to the location of their User Manuals, with some examples of usage.

Data Management Plan

The Data Management Plan (DMPs) will detailing what data the project will generate, whether and how it will be exploited or made accessible for verification and re-use, and how it will be curated and preserved. The use of a Data Management Plan is required for projects participating in the Open Research Data Pilot. Other projects are invited to submit a Data Management Plan if relevant for their planned research.
Projects taking part in the Pilot on Open Research Data are required to provide a first version of the DMP as an early deliverable within the first six months of the project. Projects participating in the pilot as well as projects who submit a DMP on a voluntary basis because it is relevant to their research should ensure that this deliverable is mentioned in the proposal. Since DMPs are expected to mature during the project, more developed versions of the plan can be included as additional deliverables at later stages. The purpose of the DMP is to support the data management life cycle for all data that will be collected, processed or generated by the project.
