Summary

At Meredot, we aim at disrupting the market by providing a scalable technology that can allow millions of users for charging their battery-operated devices wirelessly with efficiency similar to the traditional cable supply overcoming today’s limitations in terms of efficiency, maximum transferred power, and spatial alignment. We developed a method for improving the performance of magnetic resonant coupling which can be used to wirelessly supply power to any electric device with minimum power loss. Within our project, we intended to determine the most lucrative market to be the first approach, update our business model establishing optimal revenue models, and prepare for future activities related to licensing and own production. We also aimed to extend our knowledge of the business environment in target markets, to continue the customer development process, and to identify additional technological partners.

Work performed

Being assisted by our coach assigned by the EASME and our mentors, we critically assessed end-user needs and expectations sourced by potential business partners (who confirmed their interest with Letters of Interest) which should be addressed with the MePower products. We proposed several updates in terms of functionality, features and unit economics (decreasing BoM). Conducted market studies led to the decision to focus on the dynamically growing segment e-mobility with EVs and micromobility (with the prevailing presence of e-scooters). As a part of market research, we also investigated the competitive landscape updating and extending our knowledge of competitors and their offering. We also reviewed our IPR strategy, consolidating our knowledge of IPR assets in our position and drafted plan for future activities in the domain of IPR protection.

Final results

During the project, we revised and extended our business plan reflecting the updated revenue model assuming income from licensing and sales of our products. We also established a detailed work plan focused on technological development as well as on pre-commercial activities. Building on the outcomes of conducted tasks we are convinced that MePower matches confirmed needs and expectations of the end-users in the e-mobility, micromobility and mobile sectors in the technological, economic and practical aspects. We aim to prove it by successful entering the market, possibly with the support from EIC Accelerator.
