Summary

Industry 4.0 poses a series of challenges for maintenance tasks and manufacturing and production systems. Within the possibilities offered by the digitalisation of transportation systems and industrialisation, the concept of full connectivity (“Internet of Things”) and wearable devices play an important role. Many industries are being influenced by wearable technology and the Internet of Things (IoT). One of them is the industrial and component manufacturing sector. In addition, in industries which involve maintenance and manufacturing tasks, virtual reality glasses may play a key role in learning new tasks and reducing workplace accidents.
We estimate the worldwide market for these devices will grow at a yearly rate of 35% during the next five years, reaching 148 million units sold per year in 2019. They are a new workplace tool which allows for an increased productivity and employee safety, a reduction in operational costs and improved communication. But for wearable devices to see real use in work environments, they should be connected to the company’s back-end systems (ERP, CRM, BPM, etc.). The main objective of Wearable4Work project is to become the reference high-tech solution based on wearable devices for optimizing the productivity and safety in industrial working places, through the development of own disruptive technologies (WearTech TM), algorithms and adaptive routines to optimize the industrial processes. With this project, Zerintia seeks to become the first company to develop the most advanced holistic solution for supporting workers to accurately monitoring, analysing and implementing inspection and maintenance processes in a secure, timely and cost-effective way.
This is some data that could be achieved if properly applied:
 20-30% Improvement in company efficiency
 30-40% Optimization of company processes
 15-20% Reduction in information costs.
 20-30 % Operational improvement in logistics and storage.
 20-30 % Increased productivity for workers.
FINAL CONCLUSION: Based on the study, meetings and prototypes developed, we conclude that there is effectively a great market opportunity. Companies are increasingly incorporating strategies to transform their processes and business models, in line with the solutions developed at Zerintia. Our model is proven – we have customers and leads who are already betting on our technology, and we have the team of experts to achieve it.
