Summary

Over the lifetime of a fan and blower the cost of energy consumption surpasses the initial investment in as much as hundredfold. Performance optimization of fans and blowers are a huge opportunity for energy savings. Specially in the industrial sector, even seemingly minor performance improvements of fans and blowers can have a significant impact on the plant. Because fan systems often directly support production processes, many fans operate continuously. These long run times translate into significant energy consumption and substantial annual operating costs. The operating costs of large fans are often high enough that improving fan system efficiency could offer a quick payback.
Stranich F3000 is an innovative fan designed to be the most energy efficient industrial fan in the market (+16%). Using Stranich F3000, our clients would achieve a quick payback of 2 years. Considering that the service lifetime of industrial fans can be as much as 25 years, replacing underperforming industrial fans for our unique fan is now both environmentally advised and a good investment.

Work performed

During Phase 1, we defined the plan for technical development, including manufacturing automation. We analysed our production capacity and manufacturing processes in order to detect potential solutions to increase capacity while reducing production cost. We listed all the required tools and equipment to improve production and achieve a high quality/high reliable product.
Our market analysis detected potential business opportunities in three industries: food and beverage, petrochemical and chemical. As part of phase 1, we have met potential clients in all three industries to understand their needs and the market competitive environment. We performed the analysis of competitors and found the best way to position Stranich F3000 in the market.
Once our work plan was defined, we established the budget and did a risk analysis, including mitigation strategy. For the commercialization, we have been looking for potential clients to have our first pilot installation. We reviewed our IP strategy, confirming our Freedom to Operate. Finally, we created a more detailed financial model to assess the profitability of our business in the next five years.

Final results

The cost of energy in Europe is higher than Asia, Middle East or USA. Improving industrial processes and reducing energy consumption must be a priority for EU companies to be competitive in a global market. Many industrial processes rely on fans performance. Industrial fans operate for large hours (8000hrs) and small changes in the design of the fan can lead to huge differences in energy consumption (30%). Natural resources will come under increased pressure in the future. It is expected that energy demand increases by +45% in 2030. Preserving the value of resources is part of the EU circular economy concept. Stranich F3000 is taking industrial fans to next level on energy efficiency, making the European processing industry more competitive and aligned with European environmental policies and goals by reducing carbon footprint in more than (16%).
