 Obiettivo del progetto (Objective)

'Discover Research Night 2013: Trinity College Dublin (TCD), in partnership with the Royal Irish Academy (RIA) as the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI), is seeking funding to plan, promote and host the Discover Research Night as part of European Researchers' Night 2013. The project will present the public in Dublin and beyond with an opportunity to discover and celebrate the work of TCD and DRI researchers. The team of researchers will organise a range of fun, hands-on and interactive activities for the public to participate in side-by-side with the researchers. The General Theme of the Discover Research night is to involve the public in a night of fascinating research activity, linking history and the arts to technology, science and digital media. Some of the specific activities to be made available by the researchers themselves include a projection of the Sun at Night by astrophysicists, 'Tag You're It!' where participants can label and 'tag' their favourite cultural heritage objects, 'CURATE-athon' where the audience writes the news for the night and the 'First World War digital experience'. TCD and the DRI will host Discover Research Night as part of a cross-European event on the 27th September 2013 and the activities are planned for various locations both within the TCD campus, the RIA and other off-campus locations in Dublin City Centre. TCD and the RIA have prepared this project proposal, in accordance with the Guidelines for Applicants and this proposal outlines the proposed project management structure, the work programme for the proposed 7 month time-line and the proposed budget for carrying out the relevant tasks. Trinity College Dublin and the Royal Irish Academy aim for Discover Research Night to be the first EU Researchers' Night to be held in Ireland's capital city, Dublin.'
