 Obiettivo del progetto (Objective)

'We propose a project whose goal is to broaden the current range of applicability of the AdS/CFT correspondence, to draw lessons for the strongly coupled dynamics of gauge theories in diverse dimensions and to learn about new aspects of the holographic duality. To achieve these goals we focus on four systems with interesting and useful applications: (i) flavor dynamics in holographic QCD, (ii) the AdS4/CFT3 correspondence and non-perturbative dynamics of supersymmetric Chern-Simons-matter theories, (iii) AdS/CFT descriptions of disordered strongly coupled QFT's, and (iv) the AdS3/CFT2 correspondence as a laboratory for holographic dualities.'

Introduzione (Teaser)

Holography provides a non-trivial connection between conventional quantum mechanical theories of fields and particles and quantum theories of gravity. It is still unclear which quantum field theories have gravitational duals and which do not.
