 Obiettivo del progetto (Objective)

'Ultrafast processes in molecules with key character for the macroscopic properties of matter have been studied so far utilizing the best available tools for gaining temporal resolution, namely: femtosecond laser pulses. These pulses however, though capable of providing resolution to track the atomic motion and the formation and rupture of the chemical bond in real time, fail to track the motion of electrons which is expected to evolve on an attosecond time scale ( 1 as =10^-18 s). The project aims to employ for the first time attosecond technology in order to track and control electron dynamics in molecules opening the door to a new era of applications on a microscopic scale.'
