 Obiettivo del progetto (Objective)

'Organising a European Researchers' Night in Zurich for the third time means a further consolidation of a common platform for a new and better understanding of science’s, technology’s and research’s use that was established with the first Researchers' Night in Switzerland in 2007. "Zurich meets Europe" sets out to further deepening and broadening public debate on the internationality and creativity of research in Switzerland. The scope of the event is highly appreciated by the audience as well as the researchers: with its talks, demonstrations, exhibitions in the city centre and on the lake it offers something for everyone. More than 15'000 visitors discovered the dynamic ways of sciences and research in 2008. For 2009 a new prime location has been chosen: Zurich's hot-spot right in the centre, in the heart of the city, and even more guests can be expected. On Friday, September 25, 2009 between 4 pm and midnight a science market, science show, competitions, science talks on-board, lounges, special programmes for children and teenagers, the European Corner will encourage curiosity for and further understanding of science, research, innovation and discoveries and their importance for individuals and for society. Scientists from all over Europe are invited to become a part of "Zurich meets Europe" and offer their exceptional ideas to civilians with different backgrounds so they will not be surprised of the future but help shaping it. The main aim of the event is to provide researchers with the possibility to present and promote their exceptional ideas to civilians with different backgrounds and of all age groups in a joyful and easy-going atmosphere blending the best from research and science to attract, fascinate and engage the visitors. Our visitors will come to Zurich, the heart of Switzerland, where the European Research Area is waiting to be explored, experienced and enjoyed!'
