 Project objective

The global Internet of Things (IoT) market is expected to sky rocket in upcoming years by reaching up 200 bn connected devices in 2020 compared to 15 bn in 2015 and the total market value is expected to reach 1.48 Tn Eur. However, just mostly populated areas are covered with such services and approximately 80% of the globe is without connectivity. Exiting satellite based solutions are either expensive, hardly accessible for new operators and not tailored for newest applications and operations. Consortium consisting of NanoAvionics nano-satellite bus provider, Atnwerp Space inter-satellite link subsystem provider for continuous connectivity and KSAT responsible for ground stations and communication with fleet of satellites will approach this challenge by providing integrated nano-satellite based infrastructure for real time communication for IoT/M2M operators. This infrastructure “constellation as a service” will provide at least 10 times cheaper IoT/M2M services, real time data exchange and significantly reduce number of barriers to enter for new IoT/M2M operators. The targeted applications are fleet management, agriculture, asset tracking, pipelines monitoring etc. During the project, the nano-satellite based infrastructure will be developed from TRL 6 to TRL 8 together with piloting customer and after operations in orbit it will be prepared for scale-up with other companies which have signed 2 letters of support and 3 Piloting agreements. The estimated impact for participating companies is creation of additional over 190 million Eur in 5 years after project implementation.

Are you the coordinator (or a participant) of this project? Plaese send me more information about the "GIOT" project.

For instance: the website url (it has not provided by EU-opendata yet), the logo, a more detailed description of the project (in plain text as a rtf file or a word file), some pictures (as picture files, not embedded into any word file), twitter account, linkedin page, etc.

Send me an  email (fabio@fabiodisconzi.com) and I put them in your project's page as son as possible.

Thanks. And then put a link of this page into your project's website.
