 Obiettivo del progetto (Objective)

'Europe needs researchers and innovations to continue to be a knowledge-based society. General public is often oblivious of how important the profession of researcher is. Hence, the main aims of the following project are: 1) to bring researchers closer to the public and show the impact of their job on the quality of our daily life, 2) to change the false stereotype of a reserved and unsociable researcher and show them as “ordinary people”, 3) to convince young people to embark on this career 4) to hold a photo competition titled “Researchers are among us”, and finally 5) to provide festive and relaxing atmosphere for the event on 26th September sustaining European visibility. These aims will be achieved by intensive promotional campaign before the event, engaging general public into hands-on experiments so they ‘touch and feel science’ on the very day of 26th September and disseminating project results afterwards. NIGHTcLAB will cover the West Pomeranian Region of Poland and Euroregion “Pomerania”. The promotional campaign will mainly be targeted at kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. The event will be open to people of all ages with researchers, students, state universities and science clubs as main actors. The City Hall and Marshal’s Office will also support the event so that it develops a truly regional character. Researchers’ Night is planned to be the final event of the Science Festival. Attractions of the NIGHT will be divided into 4 blocks combined into one logical “map of science”: 1) visiting laboratories and taking part in experiments, 2) visiting the “academic campus” where experiments and achievements of science grouped in 6 themes will be shown (Multimedia, Experiments, Technology, Fine Arts, Medicine, Researchers’ Night Fever with the Internet), 3) participating in the photo competition, sporting events, visiting our Crazy Zoo and Researchers’ Kitchen 4) dancing to music played by researchers and having lots of fun in many competitions.'
