 Project objective

Internet is a significant driver for the economy nowadays. The impact of improved connectivity will increase mainly since the predictions for 2020 show a number of 80Bn-connected devices. Mobile Internet will play a key role in bringing the users online, as the number of smartphones has notably grown. A global perspective on Internet usage highlights critical infrastructure deployment, expansive technology, declining prices and worldwide access. The Internet Service Providers (ISP) are struggling to improve their services in terms of speed, reach and reliability, handling the variety of smartphones. The main challenges refer to the abilities of current TCP-based protocols to handle simultaneous Internet connections to different networks, limiting the resilience of mobile devices IETF, with the support of Tessares’ team, introduced Multipath TCP (MPTCP), a standard protocol more fit for the wireless environment to enable greater speed and increased resilience. Current deployments of MPTCP have required the software to be deeply integrated into the kernel of the device’s operating system, which is a lengthy and complex process, limiting its use to just a few devices. Tessares proposes a smartphone Multipath App (MPA) that simultaneously combines broadband and Wi-Fi networks for better speed, reliability and on-the-move consistency. Based on a MPTCP protocol running in the user space, not in the kernel, MPA will assist smart bonding of the most widely used smartphone access network technologies. MPA will streamline over the ISPs access network, leveraging their infrastructure by enabling flexible bonding, periodic upgrades, constraints free for every smartphone and operator-branded application. Easy to deploy on most current and future smartphones, MPA is expected to be in high demand and widely used. Through the completion of the project, we expect to reach 25.4M€ revenues 3 years after its commercialization.

Are you the coordinator (or a participant) of this project? Plaese send me more information about the "MPA" project.

For instance: the website url (it has not provided by EU-opendata yet), the logo, a more detailed description of the project (in plain text as a rtf file or a word file), some pictures (as picture files, not embedded into any word file), twitter account, linkedin page, etc.

Send me an  email (fabio@fabiodisconzi.com) and I put them in your project's page as son as possible.

Thanks. And then put a link of this page into your project's website.
