Project objective
TaxiDriver aims to disrupt the current setup in taxi industry, being the first European platform offering the opportunity to traditional taxi companies to compete against Uber and app based platform and enter the e-hailing business.
Since the boost of e-hailing platforms where everyone can drive, like Uber, during the last decade, the registered taxi drivers/companies struggle to survive (>50% of taxi passengers prefer to use mobile apps to order a taxi), as they cannot compete with the unfair competition of these platforms (lack of compliance with relevant regulations, lax background checks, unregistered vehicles/drivers) and they cannot offer the same flexible/affordable services. The result was a continuous conflict in the overall taxi industry with numerous protests and manifestations in the major European cities. Even e-hailing solutions that use registered taxis, like MyTaxi, vanish the identity of each taxi company, exchanging it with its own mobile app.
Having identified issues, we designed TaxiDriver, a unique, by definition fully compliant with all legal requirements, software allowing traditional taxi companies to have their own platform and mobile app and thus be able to offer unique branded e-hailing solutions and boost their activities (up to 25%). On top of that, our technology offers additional innovations, as TwinRide (a passenger feature to select a travel mate) and enhanced traffic algorithm with 99.8% precision. Hence, taxi drivers can increase their services efficiency and boost their activities. The successful launch of our beta platform in Hungary, Slovakia, Albania, Czech Republic and Austria showed that taxi passengers enjoyed safer trips at up to 67% lower prices.
NERD Developments is an upcoming SME in providing disruptive IT solutions, consisted of experts in software design and development. Through TaxiDriver, we aim to create a business opportunity of €19.5 million after fifth year of commercialization and create 20 new jobs.
